Jan Burian (b. 1959) - Graduated in direction form DAMU in Prague in 1984. In the same year he started as a drama director at the Oldřich Stibor Theatre in Olomouc, leavin in 1987 for the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Pilsen where, among other things, he directed Gorky's "The Last Ones", Bulgakov's "Adam and Eve", Lorca's "Yerma", Chekhov's "Uncle Vanya", Arthur Miller's "A View from the Bridge", Rostand's "Cyrano de Bergerac", Ken Ludwig's "Moon over Buffalo" and others. He has been guest director at the Jiří Wolker Theatre, the Vítězslav Nezval Theatre in Karlovy Vary, the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec and the National Theatre. He is the head of the drama faculty at DAU in Prague, and also the director of the Divadlo International Theatre Festival.
