http://www.mouvoir.de MOUVOIR was founded by Cologne based choreographer Stephanie Thiersch. Since 1999 she has been creating innovative stage art, films, installations and toured worldwide. Her work is directed to the borderline of contemporary dance, performance and media arts. MOUVOIR is a call for complex perception that draws the attention towards bodies and conditions that are not easy to localize. Thiersch´s work is an attempt to create conditions of weightlessness. Dance, photography, music, tableaux vivants and video art build an alliance for her performances. Thiersch searches for the poetic risk and ends up quiet frequently with the surreal moments of daily life. MOUVOIR is a reaction rarely an answer to the here and now. “Pictures dissolve and resurface in front of our eyes with the dancers´ bodies, themselves sites and agents of image production, trying to hold onto some kind of reality. In the slipstream of a surrealist world, these bodies oscillate between adaptation and a resistance to powers beyond their control. Always acknowledging the reality of the stage, Thiersch´s dancers create their own world transcending their limits. (Gerald Siegmund)
