Katharina Maschenka Horn, born in Oldenburg (DE) 1982. Katharina studied Dance and Choreography at the Dansacademie of ArtEZ - Hogeschool voor de kunsten in Arnhem (NL) and graduated with a BA in 2007. Since then she is working as a choreographer and dancer. In 2007 Katharina collaborated with the Dutch composer Taylan Susam for Triptych August 1972, which was performed in festivals in Germany, the Netherlands and Spain. In 2008, she created Sensemaya in collaboration with the Orchester Ereprijs at the production house Generale Oost Arnhem (NL). In the same year, she created 3Solos for the Albanian Dance Theater Company in Tirana (AL) with the support of the Robert Schwartz - deutsch-albanische Kulturgesellschaft. Also her second creation for the Albanian Dance Theater Company Yesterday & Tomorrow was realized through their support and premiered at the festival Deutscher Oktober in 2010. The same year, Katharina won the 1st prize in the choreography competition U30 Choreographen Wettbewerb in Tanzhaus Köln interim with an extract of her solo Pigeonhole, which will be shown again at the Tanztage Berlin 2012. Next to her choreographic work, she is guest teacher at the University of Arts Tirana (AL), department of Choreography, since 2008 (for 2011/2012 awarded with a scholarship for lecturership by the DAAD) and teaches Open Training for professional dancers at Dock11 (Berlin, DE) among others. As a dancer and performer, Katharina participated in creations of Gabriella Maiorino, My Lovely White Dog Dance Company, Betsy Torenbos/ Roodpaleis, Malgorzata Haduch, Raul Saldarriaga and performed with the Michael Douglas Kollektiv and Martin Sonderkamp in the Improvisation Performance Series One Week Stand.
