Das hier in englischer Sprache vorliegende „Режиссер Мейерхольд / Regisseur Meyerhold“ von Konstantin Rudnitskij gilt als eine der erste Monographien, die sich vornimmt, ein umfassende Chronologie und Theorie des Lebens und Werks Meyerholds zu schreiben. Aus dem Vorwort zur englischsprachigen Ausgabe: „[...] It was the appearance of Konstantin Rudnizkij's landmark study which finally allowed the world to get a sense of Meyerhold himself, as well as his theatrical innovations and the era in which he lived. The author had broad and unprecedented access to previously locked archives, collections of ephemeral newspapers and journals, and unpublished memoirs.
