STEVE & SAM sind verpflichtet, sich selbst zur Schau zu stellen. Sie beschäftigen sich mit weichen und harten Materialien, arbeitsintensiven Aufgaben und Methoden der Übertragung, um das Ausmaß ihrer maskulinen Potenziale zu entdecken. Von Mann zu Mann ringen sie mit der Welt und suchen nach Bewegung in und aus ihren scheinbar starren Rändern. In Steve & Sam's Man Power Mix führen Steve und Sam durch eine Reihe von sinnlichen Events in denen sie das Material um sich herum berühren und verwandeln. Get yourselves hard! SHEENA MCGRANDLES wurde 1984 in Nordirland geboren und graduierte 2007 mit einem BA in Tanztheater am Laban Center in London. 2012/13 war sie für acht Monate K3 Chorographin in Residence auf Kampnagel, Tanzplan Hamburg. Ihre Arbeit true balls entstand in diesem Rahmen und hatte dort 2013 Premiere. Sheena war dance-WEB Stipendiatin und wird für die nächsten drei Jahre durch das PAP Mentoring Programm in Berlin unterstützt. Letztes Jahr wurde sie ausgewählt ihre Arbeiten als Teil der "Pitchings" der Tanzplattform in Hamburg zu präsentieren. Ihre künstlerische Arbeit beschäftigt sich performativ und visuell mit dem Queering des Körpers in Performance, Drag und der Repräsentation von Frauen auf der Bühne. Seit Oktober 2013 ist sie Teil des künstlerischen Forschungsteams des BA Tanz, Kontext, Choreografie am HZT Berlin. ZINZI BUCHANAN absolvierte 2008 einen Bachelor-Abschluss an der Northern School of Contemporary Dance (UK). 2009 zog sie nach Berlin und schloss ein Studium mit Schwerpunkt auf Improvisation an. 2011 nahm sie an P.O.R.C.H. Ponderosa teil, wo sie eine dauerhafte Zusammenarbeit mit Alicia Grant aufnahm - im Duo WITCHTITS. Gemeinsam zeigen sie Gruppenrituale, intime Performances und Zeitschriften. Zinzi hat außerdem mit Tove Sahlin und der feministischen Organisation W.I.S.P in Stockholm sowie bei Side Show @ Tanz im August in Berlin mitgewirkt. Vor kurzem tourte sie mit Doris Uhlichs Stück more than naked. 2012 erhielt sie ein danceWEB-Stipendium und begann kurz darauf, mit Drag zu experimentieren. Ihr Solo STEVE war im vergangenen Jahr beim FRINGE @ Dance Umbrella in London zu sehen. Seit einigen Jahren arbeitet sie mit Sheena McGrandles zusammen, mit der sie einen Workshop zur Empfindung der Geschlechter geleitet hat. They engage with soft and hard materials, labor-intensive tasks and methods of transmission to discover the extent of their masculine potentials. Man to man they wrestle with the world, searching for movement in and of their seemingly rigid edges. In Steve & Sam's Man Power Mix they will take you through a series of sensational events in which they touch and transform the matter around them. Get yourselves hard! SHEENA MCGRANDLES, originally from Northern Ireland, graduated with a BA in Dance Theatre from the Laban Center, London (2007). She was also a K3 choreographer in residence for eight months as part of Tanzplan Hamburg at Kampnagel, which she created the work True balls (2013). Sheena is also a danceWEB scholarship holder and over the next 3 years she will be supported through the PAP Mentoring Program in Berlin. Last year she was selected to present her work as part of the "pitchings" at Tanzplattform, Hamburg. Her artistic practice, both performative and visual is concerned with queering the body in performance, drag and the representation of women on stage. Since October 2013 she is artistic research associate at the BA Dance, Context, Choreography at HZT Berlin. ZINZI BUCHANAN received a bachelors degree from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (UK) in 2008. She moved to Berlin in 2009 and continued to study with a particular focus on improvisation. She participated in P.O.R.C.H at Ponderosa in 2011, during which time she began an ongoing collaboration with Alicia Grant, in duo WITCHTITS. Together they make group rituals, intimate performances and zines. Zinzi has also worked with Tove Sahlin and feminist organisation W.I.S.P in Stockholm and at Side Show @ Tanz im August in Berlin. She recently toured with Doris Uhlich's piece more than naked. She received a danceWEB scholarship in 2012 and shortly after started experimenting with drag. The solo STEVE was performed at the FRINGE @ Dance Umbrella in London last year.
