Festive Land was originally founded with the mission of rediscovering and nurturing "unearthed," unknown-to-the-world traditional dance repertoires scattered around in regions and local towns in Korea. Since the foundation, the company has organized numerous performances in which the artists at the outskirt of our society- clowns, jesters, shamans, courtesans and such- have been presented to perform their exquisite and original styles of traditional dance. Among those occasions, Festive Land has produced "Ssit-gim Gut (the shaman requiem for the dead)," "Guang-dae (the ensemble of traditional jesters and clowns)," "Yeo-mu (old female artists)," and "Tresors Vivants," the performance of true masters at the surprising age of 70s to 80s. The company has also introduced the Korean traditional performances to the international audience by performing in Japan and other European countries such as France and Finland as well as US and Arabic countries.
