“In her performance For Faces, Antonia Baehr designs micro-choreographies for four faces. We sit directly across from the performers, around whom we are positioned circularly—too near for the comfort zone of the parquet and too far apart to precisely identify the mimetic agitations in the face of our vis-à-vis. The physiognomy becomes a stage where spectatorship itself, in all its intimacy and movement, openness and force, shows its face as theatrical action par excellance. Through choreography, the faces’ movements are deprived of their decodability as coherent facial expressions, they set a zoom of attention in motion. This zoom causes performer as well as person to disappear before our eyes, just as it radically places the performer at seeing’s disposal.” – Constanze Schellow

ein mikro-choreographisches Quartett für das Gesicht

„In ihrem Stück For Faces entwirft Antonia Baehr Mikro-Choreografien für vier Gesichter. Im Kreis um die PerformerInnen herum platziert, sitzt man diesen direkt gegenüber – zu nah für die comfort zone Theaterparkett und zu weit entfernt, um die mimischen Umwälzungen auf dem Gesicht des vis-à-vis genau zu identifizieren. Das ‚Antlitz’ wird zur Bühne, auf der sich das Zuschauen selbst in seiner Intimität und Aktivität, Öffnung und Gewalt als theatrale Handlung par excellence sehen lässt. Choreografisch um ihre Entzifferbarkeit als schlüssige Mimik gebracht, setzen die Gesichtsbewegungen einen Zoom der Aufmerksamkeit in Gang, der die PerformerInnen ebenso als Personen vor unseren Augen verschwinden lässt wie er sie dem Sehen radikal zur Verfügung stellt.“ – Constanze Schellow

« Dans sa pièce For Faces, Antonia Baehr conçoit des micro-chorégraphies pour quatre visages. Placé en cercle autour des interprètes, nous sommes assis_es directement face à elles/eux – trop proches pour la «zone de confort» du parterre de théâtre et trop éloigné_es pour identifier exactement les bouleversements d’expression sur le visage en face de soi. La “face” devient la scène sur laquelle le regard de la/du spectatrice_teur elle/lui-même apparaît comme acte théâtral par excellence, dans son intimité et son activité, son ouverture et sa violence. Chorégraphiés, les mouvements du visages ne sont plus déchiffrables en tant que mimiques porteuses de sens , ils mettent en marche un zoom de l’attention, qui laisse disparaître, devant nos yeux, les performeuses_eurs en tant que personnes et les met radicalement à disposition du regard. » – Constanze Schellow

«Le paysage a sa constitution et comme après tout une pièce de théâtre doit avoir une constitution, et qu’une chose doit être en relation avec une autre chose, et comme l’histoire n’est pas le point essentiel étant donné que tout le monde raconte toujours quelque chose, alors le paysage qui ne bouge pas mais qui est toujours en relation, les arbres avec les collines avec les champs, les arbres entre eux, chacun de ses éléments avec chaque ciel, et puis chaque détail avec chaque autre détail.
