In Between is Michèle Noiret´s first project as "choreographer in residence" at Le Théâtre Les Tanneurs in Brussels. It was presented in March 2000 as part of the VIA Festival of Charleroi/danses and Bruxelles/Brussel 2000. Four dancers are drawn into a space of exploration whose architecture is determined by Paolo Atzori´s images and Todor Todoroff´s sounds. Out of the confrontation with the elements (water, earth, air, fire), Michèle Noiret builds a choreographic alphabet of sorts.

She throws herself into a search for the foundations of the imaginery, investigating through contact with technology that which founds, liberates or modifies creative imagination. By reflecting on the concept of imagination as defined by Gaston Bachelard: "the faculty to deform the images supplied by perception", the choreographer places the dancing at the heart of a system which generates the imaginary.

The dancing plays with the very structure of images and sounds and is in a constant state of interactivity, reacting to the visual or sound elements which it in turn models. The wealth of propositions, supported by faultless technology which remains non-invasive, leads to a disarming and meaningful confusion of the senses. The only option left to the spectator is to question the validity and limits of his/her own perceptions, plunging with the choreographer into this investigation of sense, of the senses. This is an elaborate, masterly dance, one which seeks to scientifically fathom the meteorology of the soul and the climates of the mind.
