CARNE

Autorenschaft
Beschreibung

What do we eat? What do we have to swallow? Power structures have left deep bites in our bodies and relationships. As flesh, we too are edible, bound together in more-than-human-ecologies, not above but part of nature. As we taste and devour, we create impactful relationships between each other and the world that we keep feeding. What do we want to spit out? What to digest and transform in and through us to keep us moving?

The dance performance «CARNE» (flesh) places physicality and encounters as a starting point of resistance, healing and transformation, bearing a potential that transcends Western imagination and rationalities. «CARNE» centers Black perspectives and invites the audience to experience the Brazilian art movement of anthropophagy.

She teaches Critical Dramaturgy and is currently developing (amongst others) her artistic research «Tree Translator»the social/artistic laboratory «AUCH» and «Studio REALTALK»” at Theater an der Parkaue.

Caritia Abell (she/her / they/them) has 25 years of personal and professional know-how in the divergent (from the now) lifestyles, space holding, empowerment and body-based practices. These offerings are trauma-aware, intersectional, neurodivergent-aware, consenting and multidisciplinary perspective (with the understanding that consent is an active andvoluntary process). Within all of these spaces, Caritia leads with why (intention setting) and a utopic vision of collaboration and artistic creation. Japanese-inspired rope is a vital creative tool in (their) work. She has been exploring it for 12 years and derives great joy from sharing this practice with others through teaching, tying and being tied.

Martina Garbelli (she/her) studied contemporary dance in Italy and at the SEAD Salzburg. She has worked with several choreographers and toured in various European countries. She has lived in Berlin since 2012, where she works in the independent dance scene as a dancer, dance teacher and choreographer. She has been a member of Grupo Oito since 2015. Dance is her medium for questioning social constructs, exploring psychological processes and provoking change.

Cintia Rangel (she/her) is a Brazilian dancer, choreographer and mother. With her movement research, she works on allowing herself to be contaminated by the “space-tempo-body” of everyday life and deals with the question of how movement can become an aesthetic-political act.

Rubén Nsue (he/him), born in Madrid of African descent, began his dance journey with jazz and modern dance in his home city. He expanded his training in Barcelona, London and New York and mastered dance theater, contemporary dance and hip-hop. Nsue has performed in musicals such as «Hair»and «The Wedding Singer». In 2007, he founded the experimental dance company Lokomamia, which made its debut in Madrid with «Paralelo». As a choreographer in Berlin, he has worked on productions such as «Human Orchestra», «Heroes» und «Planet Egalia». Nsue is currently a member of the KDV Dance Ensemble and Grupo Oito and performs in «ORI Cleanse» and «Present Body». In 2021 he received a grant to research groove decomposition.

// DEUTSCH //

Was essen wir? Was mussten wir schlucken? Was wollen wir ausspucken?
