Their research on mass tourism led Christina and Darko to destinations that made history. Equipped with tourist hats and flip-flops, they set off for Prora on the island of Rügen as well as Paris, pushed their way through the overcrowded rooms of Neuschwanstein Castle and sought out the outdoor feeling in Brandenburg’s Tropical Islands.

They learned first-hand how some of these most popular, monumental travel locations work today. For the high season, they went to another monument of travel culture and booked an all-inclusive package for Mallorca: 24-hour breakfast buffet, flaterate booze and partying all night. But what satisfies the tastes of the masses is not without consequences. «Take me somewhere nice. Party without end, without meaning and without purpose» picks up on this tilted situation.

Since 2018, Christina Ciupke and Darko Dragičević have been continuously developing specific collaborative projects such as «Take me somewhere nice», «Silent Trio», «Lie & Theft as Practice» and «Failure as Practice». The artists combine their practices in the fields of choreography, dance, performance, visual arts and film in a complementary way. The spectrums of their individual skills in thinking, contextualization and movement practices merge to create new performative formats.

Christina Ciupke is a choreographer and performer based in Berlin. She develops her projects in cross-media collaborations. Within these projects, specific spaces and situations are created where proximity and distance, intimacy, sense of time and the being together of spectator and performer are constantly being re-negotiated. She has worked intensively with the choreographers Nik Haffner, Mart Kangro, Jasna L. Vinovrški and Ayşe Orhon, the composer Boris Hauf and the dramaturg Igor Dobričić. Since 2020, she has been developing the project «Silent Trio» with visual and performance artist Darko Dragičević.


Darko Dragičević (1979, Belgrade) lives and works as a visual artist, performer and filmmaker in Berlin. In his artistic practice, he explores the interfaces between visual art, choreography, video, film and performance across different media. Since 2003, he has shown his work internationally in various solo and group exhibitions, festivals and curated programs such as the Salon of the Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrade, the Kunstmuseum Bonn, The Armory Show New York, the Oberhausen Film Festival, the Ann Arbor Festival Michigan and Tanzfabrik Berlin. Since 2017 he has been working with the Goethe-Institut Belgrade as artistic director on the projects «Failure as Practice»,«Lie & Theft as Practice», «Inequality as Practice». As a lecturer he teaches at the SKH Stockholm University of the Arts, Freie Universität Berlin, Folkwang Universität Essen and the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.

Ihre Recherche zu Massentourismus führte Christina und Darko an Reiseziele, die Geschichte schrieben. Ausgerüstet mit Touristenhüten und Flip-Flops machten sie sich auf nach Prora auf Rügen genauso wie nach Paris, schoben sich durch die überfüllten Räume von Schloss Neuschwanstein und suchten das Outdoorfeeling im brandenburgischen Tropical Islands.

Dabei erfuhren sie aus erster Hand, wie einige dieser angesagtesten, monumentalen Reise-Orte heute funktionieren. Für die Hochsaison nahmen sie sich ein weiteres Denkmal der Reisekultur vor und buchten ein All-Inclusive-Paket für Mallorca: 24h Frühstücksbuffet, Flaterate-Saufen und Feiern die ganze Nacht. Doch was den Massengeschmack befriedigt, bleibt nicht ohne Folgen. «Take me somewhere nice. Party without end, without meaning and without purpose» greift diese Schräglage auf.

Seit 2018 entwickeln Christina Ciupke und Darko Dragičević kontinuierlich spezifische kollaborative Projekte wie «Take me somewhere nice», «Silent Trio», «Lie & Theft as Practice» und «Failure as Practice». Die Künstler*innen kombinieren ihre Praktiken in den Bereichen Choreografie, Tanz, Performance, bildende Kunst und Film auf komplementäre Weise. Die Spektren ihrer individuellen Fähigkeiten im Denken, in der Kontextualisierung und in der Bewegungspraxis verschmelzen zu neuen performativen Formaten.

Christina Ciupke lebt als Choreografin und Performerin in Berlin. Ihre Projekte entwickelt sie in medienübergreifenden Kollaborationen. Innerhalb dessen entstehen spezifische Räume und Situationen, in denen Nähe und Distanz, Intimität, Zeitgefühl und das Zusammensein von Zuschauerin und Performerin ständig neu verhandelt werden. Intensive Zusammenarbeiten verbinden sie mit den Choreograf*innen Nik Haffner, Mart Kangro, Jasna L. Vinovrški und Ayşe Orhon, dem Komponisten Boris Hauf und dem Dramaturgen Igor Dobričić. Seit 2020 entwickelt sie das Projekt «Silent Trio» mit dem bildenden Künstler und Performer Darko Dragičević.



Darko Dragičević (1979, Belgrad) lebt und arbeitet als bildender Künstler, Performer und Filmemacher in Berlin. In seiner künstlerischen Praxis erforscht er medienübergreifend die Schnittstellen zwischen bildender Kunst, Choreografie, Video, Film und Performance. Seit 2003 hat er seine Arbeiten international in verschiedenen Einzel- und Gruppenausstellungen, Festivals und kuratierten Programmen wie dem Salon des Museum of Contemporary Art Belgrad, dem Kunstmuseum Bonn, The Armory Show New York, dem Oberhausener Filmfestival, dem Ann Arbor Festival Michigan und in der Tanzfabrik Berlin gezeigt. Seit 2017 arbeitet er mit dem Goethe-Institut Belgrad als künstlerischer Leiter an den Projekten «Failure as Practice»,«Lie & Theft as Practice», «Inequality as Practice». Als Dozent unterrichtet er u.a. an der Stockholm University of the Arts, der Freien Universität Berlin, der Folkwang Universität Essen der Künste und an der Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
