Wiśniewski, Grzegorz

Information

Grzegorz Wiśniewski is a graduate of the Drama Directing Department of the Cracow PWST (State Theatre College). A student of Krystian Lupa (besides others the assistent director in a performance called "Cherry and Olive Platonov" according to Chekhov). Wiśniewski has been linked to the Teatr Wybrzeže for two seasons and has produced Ibsen's "John Gabriel Borkman" here. He works as a director principally in Cracow (Schwab's Presidentinnen in the STU Theatre and Platonov in the Slowacki Theatre) and in Warsaw (Die Presidentinnen in the Popular Theatre). He won the Fredro Statue for the best production for Mroźek's "Slaughterhouse" staged in the Contemporary Theatre in Wroclaw. The magazine Wprost included him amog the best directors of the younger generation.
