Here we begin to see the origins of what was to be his dynamic and innovative choreographic conceptions. In 1986, after his stay in the United States, Juan Carlos Garcia founded Lanònima Imperial. Also many well-respected companies have incorporated creations of Garcia in their repertoires notably the company founded by Gregor Seyffert with a version of Landschaft mit Shaten, a piece premiered at the Komischen Oper, and also the Itzi Galili Dance Company with Eco de Silenci. He has been awarded many prizes both national and international for his achievements of evolutionary choreography. Recently he has worked on new and very different projects like the making of one of the carriages of the Three Kings appearance in Barcelona (with the plastic artist and set designer José Menchero) and a very big multimedia event in the city of Vic (Catalonia). During the last years he has created Orfeo Concert, including the Hindu Katak dance and flamenco dance and live music, and teo very different pieces: Man's thing, a dueto about a man's couple, and "La Mar de Formas" (about shapes), a piece created for the youngest. Actually he is working in a new production inspired by greek tragedy.
