A graduate of The School For New Dance Development in Amsterdam 1993, George worked on many productions outside of Canada in the performance art and contemporary dance circuits of (London, Amsterdam, Brussels, New York) before he established a permanent residence in Montreal in 1998. Since 1998, Stamos’ work has received critical acclaim, been presented seasonally in Montreal and toured throughout Canada and Europe . Most notably the 2007 Canadian tour of his ensemble piece Schatje, the celebrated success of the ensemble piece Reservoir Pneumatic at L'Agora de la Danse in Montreal 2008-2009, the commissioning of a solo titled Croque-Monsieur by renowned dance artist Sarah Williams in 2007 and the 2010 creation of a duo titled Cloak co-produced by the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York and L’Agora de la Danse, where it will be performed Oct 6-9, 2010. Throughout his career Stamos has worked as a Performer/Collaborator with numerous other Choreographers and Directors. Most notably in Sara Shelton Mann's creations Lotus 695, Sky and Tribes/Dominion , and also in Benoit Lachambre's infamous piece Confort et Complaisance. Stamos also regularly performs his choreography and works as an Artistic Consultant to other Artists. As well as the creation of Cloak, in 2010 George has thus far created a solo for Dancer Johanna Bienaise titled Dysphoric Delicious and is in the process of creating a new piece with Company Montreal Danse titled Plastic Troglodyte to be premiered in Halifax, Nova Scotia January 2011, presented by Live Art Productions.
