The works truly reflect the miserable life of the Russian working people during the dark reign of the Tsars and their noble and sympathetic noble character.
The chamber opera “The Noble Poor” used this theme to call for and promote the noble qualities of self-denial and the simplest and softest human nature in people’s hearts.
The works mainly describe a poor fisherman and his wife, Sanna, who after the death of her neighbor Simon died, regardless of her family's poverty and children, she decided to adopt two of her children in a determined and resolute manner.
