We, Underground Airport is a theatre company in Tokyo, Japan.
 
In 2014, we went Wales to join the National Theatre Wales’s R&D project, Waleslab. And during our stay, we researched about two aspects. The first is about new nuclear unit which will be built in Anglesey island of north Wales by a Japanese company. And the second is about the myth of Red Dragon Myth which is the symbol of Wales.
 
We did those research, interviews and sharing at the end of Waleslab in Cardiff. After coming back to Japan, we created a musical play named “Red Dragon and Soil Traveller” and played in March 2016.
 
This musical won the silver grand prix of Corich Performing Arts Festival 2016 (which is the only and the biggest open competition for perfoming arts in Japan) from 109 applicants.
 
The story is based upon the Welsh Myth of Red Dragon and Mabinogi. And it is a metaphysical tale of the nuclear relationship between humanity and technology.
