format BLACKBOX: Cyber fairy tail about digital surveillance

Autorenschaft
Beschreibung

format BLACKBOX: is a dystopian cyber fairy tale about digital surveillance for performer, musicians, electronics and video.

Starting point of the work was the missing of flight MH370 in south pacific.

The audience is placed in an airplane: two rows, a small way in midst and a friendly stewardess. After taking seat the space will be split by a screen into two parts with one performer and three musicians on each side. So the musicians had to play without seeing each other. On the screen you see numbers, animations and live images filmed by 8 cameras placed in the whole space.

Flight MH370 is still missing and the different conspiracy theories are still on screen. Some of them are part of the piece. Characters and circumstances had been created by researched material.

First there is an Iranian refugee travelling with his false passport. We follow his thoughts while something strange is happening on board.

We also see a businesswoman returning from an important meeting. She is interested in the new portfolio of this intelligent digital stock market analyst AdamA – but she couldn’t understand why she had to bet against the stock of the airline she’s using in the moment: this seems to be scary. And at least there is the fear of being a victim of a terrorist attack which is a big argument for collecting massively data by the secret services. Where will it takes us: a nightmare begins. At the end we are really sure that the airplane had crashed and we won’t find any survivor.
