Mykyta the Fox, musical - is the story on how the society, being ready to blind submission, becomes the victim of fraud and egocentric ambitions of a cheat, who pretends to be the prophet and the savior. It’s main idea resides in the importance of mutual aid and countenance, acceptance of each other, need for unity in opposing authoritarianism.
Despite the seriousness of raised issues, it is a very dynamic, easy and fun one-act musical for the whole family. It’s plot is rather capturing with a non-trivial turn of events. It has a place for both humor and touching episodes, both ensemble and solo scenes.
Music makes up 80% of the musical's duration. It is very diverse in style (it's jazz, funk, reggae, calypso, Bavarian waltz, rock and roll, western and much more), but it organically emphasizes what is happening on stage and is easy to remember.
The musical's storyline is inspired by several fairytales by the Ukrainian classical writer Ivan Franco (1856-1916). The Fox, as a character, is also reputed in Germany thanks to the poem "Reineke Fuchs" by Goethe.
