Elisabeth de Merode presents Redwoods, a multi media show of video, music and performance. This creation is an ode to nature and its particular way of touching us ...
When was the last time you really saw a tree? Redwoods is an invitation to dive into the pure, magical, and rejuvenating world of nature. This musical show explores the relationship between nature and human beings to highlight the wonder, the contemplation, our complex inter-dependent relationship and possible solutions a more ecological way of thinking.
For this project, the Belgian flutist Elisabeth de Merode is collaborating with a group of international artists: the multidisciplinary composition is based on the music of the Italian composer Salvatore Sciarrino and his Opera per Flauto. The composer Denis Schuler (from Geneva) created project pieces for this inspired by Sciarrino’s music. The director and videographer Letizia Renzini has transformed this unique music into a dramaturgy linking music, video, sounds and gestures that will support the musical intention of Elisabeth de Merode. The video contains two interventions by the performer Anne Rochat.
