chamber opera by Kenneth Winkler
The musical concept combines live chamber orchestra music with preproduced electronic elements. Such as lead and pad synthesizers as well as basslines and drum programmings. To make the orchestra follow the playbacks, the conductor is equipped with an „in-ear system“ that allows him to listen to the click track, which he is passing on to the orchestra and singers. In this way the important aspect of todays steady beat timing in pop music is maintained throughout the whole play. Combining this aspect with a quite unconventional chamber orchestra and classic singers is what defines this piece.
