Beschreibung

“The end does not end” – Jun Kawasaki, Music and Poetic Drama Laboratory’s  contemporary music theatre – features a blend of contemporary choreography, modern compositions, improvisation and traditional music. This is creating a new  ” Eurasian opera project”  that embraces essences of Japanese traditional musical theater (i.e. Noh) or new dance (i.e. Butoh), and it is different from ballet or opera in Western Europe. 2017 ,we performed this piece  and lectured inl Armenia , Russia , Republic of Buryatia.,Turkey and Ukraine . In the project, we collaborated with singers  Sainkho Namtylak(Tuva)   Saaet Turkoz(Turkey)   and music players  Ayumi Paul(violin) Sergey Letov(Sax)  and dancers. At first Jun Kawasaki compose imaginary modern folk songs and then rearrange for more contemporary and abstract chamber music and more primitive vocal ensemble with improvsation and Korean traditional percussions and  Japanese traditional instruments. .

Performance consists of various themes and topics such as minor nomadic tribe without letter, two World Wars and Revolution in 20 century and languages and their culture of Shamanism that being lost. Complex themes mentioned above will reconstruct by critical play and songs. Human beings now confront lots of conundrums such as emerging conflicts between ethnic groups due to internationality introduced by a globalizing world. This projects about the great nomadic ethnical minority group will give an inspiration towards these arising problems.
