At the beginning of our project stands a joint reading of the novel The House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski. Within the Novel The Navidson Record is the title of a lost documentary movie. The film, a fragmentary poetic statement, tells the story of the fictional Pulitzer Prize winner and family father Will Navidson. He moves with his family to the countryside in order to reestablish a lost relationship between all members. This results in a documentary about all the events happening. Will Navidson documents the residents who are suddenly subjected to uncanny metamorphoses and the stories happening in the mysterious spaces within the labyrinth of immeasurable dimensions.
We worked with the idea to create a life investigation of a shifting topography of medias as a timeless co-authorship with the spectator. All artists work as independent authors. We are continuously reconstructed fragmentary events of the novel and formulating the tilting moment of something familiar and its loss. We have managed to realize a music theatre as an art installation, collaborating with local artists. We create our labyrinthine house every time anew.
