"Leonce and Lena" is an extremely valuable piece of German theater history - a still valid satire on German micro-state, which continues to exist in the after 1945 installed in the Federal Republic and after 1989 also adopted for the former GDR federal system. The piece belongs, probably also due to the very idiosyncratic and poetic language Büchner, rarely to the "boxers". The theaters are often undecided, whether they should work for children, adolescents or adults. In 2014, our decision was in favor of a production for children.
After the summer season of 2014, the desire arose to rework this pearl of German culture and musical revival once again, and this time for adults, and to make it accessible to a wider audience in the evening program. This consideration is obvious, especially since here (compared to all other productions) the creative share of Wolf-Dieter Gööck's textbook and Milko Kerstens compositions is highest.
The reworking "La deutsche Vita" will be shown from 2018 as part of the of the Dresdner Sommerwirtschaft Saloppe. The Serkowitzer Volksoper is removing barriers to music theater and attracting new audiences to music theater.
