Puis il devint invisible

Beschreibung

The triptych inspired by Bach's Passions was born from the meeting during the creation of an opera by Haydn in 2012, and the desire to share the interrogations of producers and performers about the methods of lyric production, the part of research and experimentation, which appears to them to be necessary for an in-depth entry into a work.

Puis il devint invisible echoes the events that border the story of the Passion (anointing, washing feet, Eucharist, water and blood coming out of the pierced side, embalming) with the daily care that we give to our bodies : washing, exfoliating, disinfection, moisturizing.

How the question of lost heaven by the original sin spread through our unconscious, and participates in our quest of purity, of longevity and to go further, of immortality

The body disappearance and deterioration invites the question of traces and prints from Bach music. A. Sarto writes a music which sits closely to Bach, as well as contemporary music, with singers and baroque strings, but also with accordion, trumpet, saxophone, melodica. The music integrates reminiscences, disappearances, appearances, in order to merge music and stage together.

A. Sarto created an original composition, freely inspired from Bach, but does not consists in an arrangement, a re-writing or a re-reading of the Passions.
