durst&frucht

Beschreibung

The interdisciplinary music theatre production "durst&frucht" is a Swiss-German cooperation between - amongst others - the composer Annette Schmucki (CH), the ensemble proton (CH), maulwerker (D) and the director Therese Schmidt (D).
Based on the work of the Brothers Grimm on the German dictionary, Annette Schmucki composes a large wordlist music for speaking voices, ensemble and video projections. The project deals with the hunting and gathering of the language, the exposing, conquering and taming of the language mountain and its invincibility. "durst&frucht" speaks about two brothers, their ceaseless working / finishing of the words. Day after day, door to door, in very different working tempi, techniques, types of recess. Our project speaks about recognizing and acknowledging the gaps, the free spaces, the permanent change of language, its marginal phenomena, incomprehensibility, openness; speaks of the brothers Grimm, who finally die over the words "durst" and "frucht". One can hear words, word lists, word particles and scraps of narration. One can hear pulses, clumps and fields. It is a borderline movement between music and language, a shift from language to music, from music to language. One can see flying words, opening mouths, sharpened pencils and ears, writing movements.

"durst&frucht" is a co-production of Musikfestival Bern, Gare du Nord Basel and durst&frucht productions.
