The reorder-playing marionette Francesca is a great star. Everybody loves her music and her dancing. But she is not happy. She would like to know so much how it is in the wide world. She only knows her stage and her caravan. Francesca wants to get out of her monotonous life on the marionette strings and get to know new things. She promises to come back as soon as she has experienced enough. With the help of a blackbird she makes it to get rid of the strings and to fly in the wide world. But what happens on her journey?
 
 The ensemble NeuesMusikTheater.graz is very much concerned to give children different experiences with contemporary music. Therefore the music theatre ”Francesca fliegt” makes it possible, that the children can follow the performance not only as part of the audience, but also as musicians and composers themselves. A workshop before the beginning of the show allows to have a look on the composers work, to experiment with and look for sounds to tell their own story with music. At last the children create two own pieces of music, that will be performed during the show.
