Heaven Can Wait

Beschreibung

HEAVEN CAN WAIT is a socio-critical musical theater play designed to show today's consumer-oriented people the dissonance of their existence. It takes place in a time when people are on the verge of losing their ability to listen properly and no longer appreciate the importance of silence and reflection.

"Time is out of joint," said Hamlet many years ago. In this play, angel Fredi, after 15 years of penitantial observation on earth, tries to deliver her report of the human Katie, so she can go back to heaven. But this is not so easy, because the other four angels Thea, Odette, Franzi and Tina are not only responsible for the bureaucracy - and thus for Fredi's report - but also pretty scary...

The angels were assigned to bring back to the world their much needed balance. They then go searching for what threatens the harmony on earth and hereby confront the audience with the peculiarities of today's life, with all the shortcomings and failures. The five actresses slip into several roles in this rapidly satirical view of our time and as angels on earth experience everything from the health craze in the supermarket to the "Complete Body Pump Up Functional Zumba" for many sweaters. With a lot of wit and a cheeky wink, they sing, dance and rhyme through the play, showing the viewer that even angels can make mistakes and the heavens may be closer to us than we all think.
