Opera Camera is an ensemble supported for 10 years by the culture  department of Israel.This ensemble is dedicating its time,putting on music theatre shows.We celebrated our 10th anniversary with Hansel&Gretel the famous opera by E.Humperdinck.The opera is preformed in its original language-German.Our opera,being loyal To the origin is completely different by far.The music has been transformed to electronics and piano. The musician who works with us is Alon  Azizi,a well known alternative composer and singer here in Israel. The stage director is Dani Ehrlich who founded Opera Camera and works for years in the  scene of alternative operas and musical theatre.The Desginer is Maya Meidar Moran a well know designer here.Our Hansel & Gretel have been casted to an urban world. Instead of the forest all the stage is scattered whith readymade objects.the famous witch ,is a drug dealer who tempts the kids.The audience can move their  chairs,to watch the scenes that surround them.We have four known opera singers who are doing all the parts of the opera.They all worked with ‘Opera Camera’ before.In our show the father sings the part of the witch,the mother sings the part of the forest creatures.By doing this duplication we gain a new dimension to the story.Our opera can be performed in any black box venue,not only in theatres,but in venues like bars and clubs and actually in any space.H&G is a biting version show.
