شبی که باد در شاخ هایم پیچید - The night wind touched my antler

Beschreibung

What makes the base of this play is amalgamation of ancient Iranian (Persian) traditions and regulations, part of which was used to be common among people before and part is common until now. Until the very previous years people in western and eastern parts of Iran had held traditional ceremonies for the sake of rain and prevention of fountains and aqueducts’ dryness. One of these festivals is called “the shaft’s bride” in which people wed a girl to a shaft or a fountain in order to prevent its dryness.

Although the structure of this text is classic and the characterization owes “Tazieh” (which is a traditional stage management), our performance approach is different and experimental. the play’s basic format is Iranian musical one.

The play consists of four scenes and each scene’s kingpin is one of the characters, the haunter, the girl, the tree and the god of water. The setting of play is a lake in a forest in which girls are wedded to the god of water. Time is not specifically acknowledged in the play. But language and structure of the play leads us to ancient time. However we have considered the present time for the performance.

This time replacement helps us to tell the day’s issues in an allegorical way for the audience and therefore they don’t feel far and alien from the characters.
