Complaints are constant and commonplace, because complaining is how we express that everything is not OK. Nagging, moaning, bitching, whining, grousing, blaming, grumbling, bellyaching, pointing the finger, accusing, denouncing. Alone or as a group. In private or publicly. Over the phone, at demonstrations, or through petitions. Whatever it is, we gonna complain about it!
FUX dedicates "The Rediscovery of Granteloper" to the enunciation of dissent – from the inconsequential gripe to the revolutionary protest. To do so, they harness an ancient, almost forgotten musical theatre format, the "Granteloper" (Grumble Opera). This format was once devised to give a voice to the worries and hardships of the oppressed and to express their full potential as an unprecedented work of art and an alternaitve opera for the masses. This noble claim might be a reason why no single Granteloper has been realized so far. That's where FUX comes in.
Whether an entire political system, a broken traffic light, death in the everyday, an olive that's missing an almond, or the inexpressible pain of love - anything can be the target of their ire. Befitting the original concept of a Granteloper-Troupe, they will tour the country with their Grantel-Choir and their Grantel-Orchestra to see what it can offer for them to raise their voices. Because if there was ever a time for the Granteloper, it's now!
