I have imagined a story with scenes full of metaphors, history, and people depicted in an abstract manner. With these scenes as an initial inspiration, I came up with various possibilities to realize such concept: filtering, calculating, transforming with intuition. I call this process “Conceptual Transformation”.

This piece ‘Pyongyang’ is originally intended to be performed in a dark place with laser art and video installation.

However, the solo piano version which I premiered is completely transformed, composed and realized.

The laser art will be pouring from multi-directions. It makes the performer unseen or hidden from the audience.

All things which here happen are transformed from an original script.

The original script is written with text, graphic, and musical notes. But they will be transformed into other languages of an art form.
