A-Ronne II

Autorenschaft
Beschreibung

A-Ronne is a piece for radio by Luciano Berio inspired by the style of the 16th century Italian madrigale rappresentativo, a theatre for the ears. A poem by Sanguineti, a collage of quotations in various languages ranging from Dante to the Gospel and from Marx to T. S. Eliot are set to music by the composer, projected into various musical situations. Ingrid von Wantoch Rekowski chose to have actors in this piece generally performed by singers, showing the voice in all its states. Sitting on unusual seats, five characters straight out of Renaissance paintings amusingly and expressively sing, murmur, converse, chuckle, grumble and embody this score.

Franco-German Ingrid von Wantoch Rekowski (1967) studied a number of subjects in the United States and Europe, including directing at INSAS in Brussels. She has attended workshops and participated in projects with Eugenio Barba, Trisha Brown, Bob Wilson and Pierre Droulers. This dancer, pianist and dramatist then began working on her own creations: In the woods one evening (1994), A-Ronne II (1996) and, with Claudio Bernardo, Le jardin des graves et des aigus (1997) and La chose effroyable dans l’oreille de V (1999).

She has brought two productions to the KunstenFESTIVALdesArts: in 1998, she staged Life on a String, the opera by Chinese composer Qu Xiao-song and, in 1999, she directed Monteverdi’s Cena Furiosa, which had its premiere at the Festival d’Art Lyrique in Aix-en-Provence.
