In this video, you will see the artist and juggler Kathrin Wagner performing at the Zirkus ONstage - Pro Festival, a showcase presenting projects from the yearly creation program, offered to contemporary circus artists in and from Germany since 2019.  "I was Told." was accompanied during the creation process in the 3rd Zirkus ON edition 2021-2022  and plays with, manipulates and questions the perception as women and performer on stage. The video captures the reflecting and empowering atmosphere between artists and audience at festival venue Pfefferberg Theater.

In I Was Told., the artist Kathrin Wagner plays with, manipulates, and questions how both – she and the audience perceive her as a woman and performer on stage. Do we believe in external voices, our inner
desire for unattainable perfection evolving from the ideals we’re constantly exposed to, or do we trust our own intuition and judgement? Through ring juggling and original texts, as well as plenty of interaction, they share witty moments and with a tad of feminism and a big portion of honesty, Kathrin encourages reflection and empowers the audience. “Both humorous and audience-engaging, but also thought-provoking.
