In this video, you will see an acrobatic duo performing at the Zirkus ONstage - Pro Festival, a showcase presenting projects from the yearly creation program, offered to contemporary circus artists in and from Germany since 2019. "Kaleiding" was accompanied during the creation process in the 4th Zirkus ON edition 2022-2023 and the two artists form a meditative spectacle between hypnotizing shapes and new perspectives, presented on a mirror as stage. The video captures the atmosphere of contemporary partner acrobatics at festival venue Pfefferwerk located at Haus 13 at Pfefferberg.

2 performers – 4 bodies. Kaleiding is a meditative spectacle between hypnotizing shapes and new perspectives onto contemporary partner acrobatics. With a big mirror as the stage, the audience is invited on a journey into a seemingly perfectly balanced world, which feels like a long look into a kaleidoscope. But what happens, when everything is not as perfect as it seems? If you bring light into darkness and something shifts? How do we cope with changes in our environment and how long can we hold onto something irreparable? “Kaleiding depicts reflecting and rearranging an image in unforeseen shapes. The phonetic similarity to the word ‚colliding‘ refers to
the movement quality of the two performers towards each other as well as the potential to clash with the mirror.” (Lily&Janick)

2 Performende – 4 Körper. Kaleiding ist ein meditatives Spektakel zwischen hypnotisierenden Formen und neuen Perspektiven auf zeitgenössische Partnerakrobatik. Mit einem Spiegel als Bühne nehmen Lily&Janick das Publikum auf eine Reise. Eine scheinbar perfekt ausbalancierte Welt, die sich anfühlt, wie ein Blick in ein Kaleidoskop. Was passiert jedoch, wenn nicht alles so ist wie es scheint? Wenn man Licht ins Dunkel bringt und sich etwas verändert? Wie reagieren wir auf Veränderungen unseres Umfelds, wie lange kann man Vergangenem festhalten?
