Worin liegt Schwarze Männlichkeit begründet? Ist es der Gang, ist es die Körperhaltung, ist es die Zeit, die man sich nimmt? In „portrait of myself as my father“ setzt sich Nora Chipaumire mit der Vaterfigur auseinander, und nimmt sie zum Anlass, koloniale und postkoloniale Strategien zu hinterfragen. Für die in Simbabwe geborene, in Brooklyn lebende Choreografin wird die Biografie ihres Vaters zum Ausgangspunkt für einen furiosen Performance-Mix aus Tanz, Popkultur, Akrobatik und Diskurs, der rassistische Stereotype und Gewalterfahrungen ebenso lautstark in den Boxring wirft wie Vorbilder und Utopien.
