DEUTSCH: "My shapes, your words, their grey" ist ein Stück über Nuancen und Zwischenräume, angesiedelt zwischen bildender Kunst, Performance und Lecture. Was ist das graue Leben? Grau ist für Philipp Gehmacher keine Nicht-Farbe. Grau akzeptiert alle Farben. Dem "grauen Leben" ist jedes Pathos fern, ohne gleichgültig zu sein. Gehmacher entfaltet mit seiner spezifischen, gestenreichen und ausdrucksstarken Körpersprache einen charakteristischen Raum. Form, Text, Bewegung und der subtile Einsatz von Gérald Kurdians Soundlandschaft erzeugen einen Schwebezustand, der seine Wirksamkeit nicht verfehlt. There is no point being dramatic. Philipp Gehmacher lebt in Wien und arbeitet lokal wie international. Das Erforschen der dem Körper eingeschriebenen Bewegungen und Aktionen, führte zur Beschäftigung mit den Forschungsfeldern Geste, Raum und Berührung (in the absence, 1999, mountains are mountains, 2003, incubator, 2004). Zwischen 2007 und 2012 entstanden neben zahlreichen choreografischen Arbeiten auch Kollaborationen mit Meg Stuart und Vladimir Miller, die Bühnenstücke wie auch Videoinstallationen hervorbrachten (Maybe Forever, 2007, dead reckoning, 2009, the fault lines, 2010). Seit 2008 Entwicklung der Lecture Performance walk+talk (www.oralsite.be/pages/Walk_Talk_Documents) und Beschäftigung mit Sprache, Ansprache und Äußerung (SAY SOMETHING, 2013). Seit 2011 entstehen Ausstellungen und Videoarbeiten (my shapes, your words, their grey, 2013). Die Arbeit an Objekten, Materialen und die Gestaltung von begehbaren Räumen (der grauraum) ist derzeit Gehmachers Fokus. Seit 2014 ist Philipp Gehmacher auch Teil der Klasse 'Skulptur und Raum' der Universität für Angewandte Kunst, Wien. ENGLISH: "My shapes, your words, their grey" is a piece about nuances and inter- stices, situated somewhere between the pictorial arts, performance and a lecture. What is a grey life? For Philipp Gehmacher grey is not a non-colour. Grey accepts all colours. A "grey life" is far removed from pathos, without being indifferent. Gehmacher uses his specific, richly gestural and power- fully expressive body language to create a characteristic space. Form, text, movement and the subtle use of Gérald Kurdian's sound landscape result in an extremely effectual state of limbo. Philipp Gehmacher lives in Vienna and works locally as well as internationally. His research regarding the movements and actions inscribed into the body led to further investigation of the research areas gesture, space, and touch. Between 2007 and 2012, apart from creating numerous choreographic works, he also collaborated with Meg Stuart and Vladimir Miller, resulting in stage pieces as well as video installations (dead reckoning, 2009; the fault lines, 2010). Since 2008 Philipp Gehmacher has been developing the lecture performance walk+talk and investigating language, address, and expression (SAY SOMETHING, 2013). Since 2011 he has created exhibitions and video works (my shapes, your words, their grey, 2013). Gehmacher's current focus lies on working on objects, materials and conceiving walk-in spaces (der grauraum).
