MEETING Ein Rezital mit Roboterunterstützung: In einem Kreis aus 64 computergesteuerten Maschinchen, die mit ihren Schlägeln komplexe Rhythmen auf den Boden klöppeln, erproben Antony Hamilton und sein Kollege Alisdair Macindoe synchron- symmetrisch aufeinander abgestimmte Minimalbewegungen. Beeinflusst vom Popping, verschwimmen in dem Duett das Organische und Mechanische. Hamilton und Macindoe wirken wie Artisten in der Zirkusmanege, dann wie Roboter, die am Fließband einen monotonen Arbeitsschritt ausführen. Schließlich arrangieren sie sich und die 'drum tapper' neu im Raum, die Choreografie wird zur mechanisch belebten Klanginstallation: Nach dem anfänglich meditativen Klopfen ertönt zunehmend ein vielstimmiges Schnarren, Trommeln und Klingeln wie im Spielzeug- oder Uhrenladen. Ein zauberischer Mensch-Maschine-Dialog, mit dem der australische Choreograf Antony Hamilton und der Tänzer wie Instrumentenbauer Alisdair Macindoe ihre Europapremiere von "MEETING" in Berlin feiern. ENGLISH: MEETING A robot-assisted recital: in a circle of 64 computer-controlled machines that drum complex rhythms onto the floor, Antony Hamilton and his colleague Alisdair Macindoe carry out synchronous, symmetrical, coordinated minimal movements. Influenced by popping, the duet merges the organic with the mechanical. Hamilton and Macindoe come across like acrobats in a circus ring, then like robots performing monotonous tasks on an assembly line. Finally they rearrange themselves and the 'drum tappers', and the choreography becomes a mechanically animated sound installation: after the initially meditative tapping comes an increasingly polyphonous buzzing, ringing and drumming, as in a toyshop or a clockmaker's. A magical mechanical-human dialogue, with which the Australian choreographer Antony Hamilton and the dancer and instrument-maker Alisdair Macindoe are appearing in Berlin for the first time.
