VICTORIA BECKHAM HAS MIGRAINE performatively works on a temporary abolishment of a referential field which has been opened by its title. The performance works on accumulation as a functional exchange for a hierarchy. Through deliberate performative and contentual depolitization of its own practice, without attempt of a repolitization which would have happened through the creation of another type of the performative community, this work constantly searches for a space in which its implicit politicality remains virtually present but unrealized. VICTORIA BECKHAM HAS MIGRAINE was created to dissect fragments of desire-surfaces that are, more or less efficient, penetrating our own sense of a bodily-self. Using the body as a tool that propelers such imposed desires but also resists them most urgently, this work creates its own temporary hysteria that enlarges the issue until it collapses.
