D: In "Continuity" widmet sich der Choreograf und Videokünstler Walter Bickmann dem bewegten Körper als eine sich kontinuierlich in Raum und Zeit transformierende Skulptur. Der ursprünglich statische Skulpturbegriff aus der Bildenden Kunst wird um das performative Element ins temporäre, flüchtige erweitert. Der Augenblick zeigt dabei stets nur Zustandsweisen eines Kontinuums an möglichen Gestaltungen. "Continuity" erforscht den Faktor Zeit als eine objektiv messbare und zugleich extrem subjektive Größe. Die vom menschlichen Bewusstsein wahrgenommene Form der Abfolge von Ereignissen ' die Zeit an sich ' dient als elementares Gestaltungsmittel und wird Gegenstand der künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung. Das choreografische Prinzip basiert auf der mit der Tänzerin Stella Zannou entwickelten Research-Performance "in·between". Diese als Solo konzipierte Choreografie wird in "Continuity" kontrapunktisch, komplementär oder synchron zum Duett entfaltet. Walter Bickmann studierte Bühnentanz an der Musikhochschule München, Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung. Als Tänzer war er u. a. mehrere Jahre Ensemblemitglied am Ballett der Staatsoper in Wien und am Choreographischen Theater Johann Kresnik in Berlin. Er war Tanztheaterleiter am Stadttheater Stendal und arbeitete als Choreograf und Regisseur u. a. am Theater im Künstlerhaus in Wien und der Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin. Er erhielt den Förderpreis Choreografie des österreichischen Bundesministeriums für Wissenschaft und Kunst. Seit 2006 ist Walter Bickmann als freischaffender Choreograf und Videokünstler in Berlin tätig. Seine Projekte wurden auf zahlreichen Festivals im In- und Ausland gezeigt. Er engagiert sich über seine eigene künstlerische Arbeit hinaus für ein neues kulturpolitisches Bewusstsein und die Erschließung einer breiteren Öffentlichkeit für zeitgenössischen Tanz und ist Initiator und Produzent der Videoplattform www.tanzforumberlin.de Lydia Klement absolvierte ihre Tanzausbildung in Dresden, Berlin und New York. Als Choreografin entwickelte sie zahlreiche Projekte mit Sven Sören Beyer und Christiane Neudecker für das Berliner Künstlerkollektiv phase7. Als Tänzerin arbeitete sie unter anderem mit Ingo Reulecke, Helge Musial, Christoph Winkler, Frédéric Flamand und Walter Bickmann. Stella Zannou studierte Zeitgenössischen Tanz und Choreografie in Athen (Greek State School, American College of Greece) und London (London College of Dance und London Studio Centre). Als Tänzerin war sie unter anderem für Johannes Wieland, Maya M. Carrol (nee Lipsker), Clint Lutes, Richard Siegal, Athina Vahla, M. Klien, Kunst-stoff (Yannis Antoniou), Editta Braun, Apostolia Papadamaki, Haris Mandafounis, K. Mixos, Prosxima Dance Company und Walter Bickmann tätig. Sowohl als Tänzerin wie auch als Choreografin erhielt sie zahlreiche Preise, von der Zeitschrift ballettanz/ Tanz wurde sie 2003 von Katja Werner und 2010 von Arnd Wesemann in die Auswahl zur "Tänzerin des Jahres" nominiert. 2006 gründete sie die Smack Dance Company in Athen. Ihre Arbeiten wurden bei zahlreichen Festivals im In- und Ausland gezeigt. E: "Continuity" experiments with the idea of the dancing body as a sculpture that continually transforms itself in space and time. The term "sculpture" is transformed from its original, static meaning, as used in the fine arts, and expanded into the temporal, ephemeral realm. Every moment is a snapshot of a continuum of possible formations. "Continuity" explores time as an objectively measurable, but at the same time highly subjective factor. The sequence of events perceived by the human mind ' time per se ' is used as an elementary design medium and becomes the subject of an artistic exploration. The choreographic principle is based on the performance "in·between", which Walter Bickmann developed with the dancer Stella Zannou as a research piece. In "Continuity", the former solo becomes a duet, which counterpoints or complements the original material, or follows it in synchronicity. The choreographer and video artist Walter Bickmann studied dance at the Musikhochschule/ Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung in Munich. As a dancer he had engagements at the state opera of Vienna and the choreographic theatre of Johann Kresnik in Berlin, among others. He was the director of dance theatre at the city theatre Stendal and worked as a choreographer and director at the Theater im Künstlerhaus in Vienna and the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz in Berlin, among others. He received the Sponsorship Grant for Choreography from the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Art.
