MEDIATHEK

10 MIN is a stage project initiated by EN-KNAP Productions that brings the dancers of EnKnapGroup together with eleven authors from the international contemporary performing art scene. The title captures the task which Iztok Kovač set before each author: to stage their personal view on the nature of time in a performance no longer and no shorter than ten minutes.

At its centre, 10 MIN questions the fluidity and elusiveness of time in the context of geographic and social frameworks and ideologies. These unique and personal perspectives are unified by the original response of the Slovenian composers Mitja Vrhovnik Smrekar, light design by Jaka Šimenc, projections by Nejaaka and Luka Umek and costumes by Alan Hranitelj and Valter Kobal.

The project was originally presented in two parts:
10 Min East with the choreographic vignettes by Snježana Abramović- Milković, Matjaž Berger, Edward Clug, Matjaž Farič, Laszlo Hudi in Iztok Kovač (premiere: November 2009) and 10 Min South, with choreographic vigettes by Dalija Aćin, Ivica Buljan, Jordi Casanovas, Olga Pona and David Zambrano (premiere: November 2010).

10 Min with Pina Bausch
A ten minute tribute to Pina Bausch with an emphasis on the transitoriness of time.
László Hudi (Hungary)
Director, choreographer, long-time collaborator of Joseph Nadj and founder of the group Mozgohaz, László Hudi is also the artistic director of Florian Workshop and Arcus Temporum Art Festival.

Order
A reflection on the contemporary society and time, in which mutual relations are governed by incessant orders imposed on people.
Matjaž Farič (Slovenia)
One of Slovenia’s most productive choreographers of the last 20 years, Matjaž Farič is the founder and artistic director of Flota productions and the international festival Fronta.

A ten minute reflection of a brief, yet intense intimate relationship between a man and a woman in an intimate setting.
Edward Clug (Romania/Slovenia)
Independent creator in the field of contemporary ballet who recieved numerous Slovenian and international awards, Edward Clug is the artistic director of the Maribor Ballet Ensemble.

Fragments
Flashbacks of time - fragments of memories. Glimmers of seemingly unrelated personal encounters, intersected by darkness which symolises the blink of an eye.
Snježana Abramović – Milković (Croatia)
A prominent Croatian dancer and choreographer, the author of more than 50 choreographies, and the founder of Zagreb Dance Company and Svetvinčenat Festival is currently working on Mediterranian Dance Centre in Istria.

Iztok Kovač (Slovenia)
The recipient of prestigious international and national awards for his extensive oeuvre, Iztok Kovač is the founder of EN-KNAP Productions, the artistic director of EnKnapGroup, and the artistic director of Španski Borci Cultural Centre in Ljubljana.
