Der auf gemeinschaftliches Handeln ausgerichtete Ansatz verfolgt die Erweiterung des choreografischen Vokabulars, eine Veränderung des Denkens, des Wahrnehmens und Reflektierens der eigenen und der fremden Medien. Ziel ist die vertiefte Auseinandersetzung mit Choreografie als zeitgenössischer Kunstform. Public in Private wurde 2008 von Jasna Layes-Vinovrski und Clément Layes gegründet. CLÉMENT LAYES studierte nach dem Besuch der Zirkusschule Tanz und Philosophie in Lyon. Er entwickelte eine Technik an der Schnittstelle von Choreografie, Bildender Kunst und konzeptuellem Denken zur Erforschung des Alltags und alltäglicher Gegenstände. Für sein Debüt Allege, das europaweit auf zahlreichen Festivals und an Spielorten gezeigt wurde, erhielt Public in Private den Jurypreis des 38. Infant Festivals (Novi Sad) und eine künstlerische Residenz des Prix Jardin d'Europe 2011. Zuletzt entstanden Der grüne Stuhl im August 2012 (Tanznacht Berlin) und Things that surround us (SOPHIENSà†LE) im November 2012. VINCENT WEBER studierte am National Conservatory of Dance in Lyon und war anschließend Mitglied der Company von Maguy Marin. Er performte u.a. in May B, Umwelt, Ha Ha!, Turba und Description d’ un Combat. Seit 2010 arbeitet er auch für Companies wie z.B. Wagons Libres und Cie. Yoann Bourgeois. Gemeinsam mit anderen KünstlerInnen gibt er das Magazin Rodeo für Fotografie, Malerei und Literatur heraus und entwickelt eine eigene Schreibtechnik. Nach Things that surround us setzt er mit Allege (2013) die Zusammenarbeit mit Public in Private fort.
