"Vanitas" was commissioned by the Springdance Festival '96. The Latin title Vanitas has been chosen in the specific meaning of mortality. The choreography has been made for five women. The basic concept of the stage design of Conrad van de Ven (visual artist) has been further developed in close cooperation with Krisztina de Chatel and Michiel van Blokland. As a pair, Krisztina and Conrad have proven before to be capable of special productions, as they cooperated in the much talked-about-production "Föld" (1985) and in the film "Stalen Neuzen" (1995).
