Un américain à Paris - Hommage à Merce Cunningham

Beschreibung
The first part of this piece was first created on the occasion of a hommage to Merce Cunningham on December 7, 2009 at the Théâtre de la Ville in Paris. The main objective is an artistic gesture towards Merce: to remember, to dance Merce, even if one has never really danced Merce before. It is a way of evoking a link to the great Merce, to his work, but also to his line of thought, his inventiveness, his sense of humor about the world, and his incredible youth. It is also a way of shrinking time and transmitting to the younger generations “Merce's dancing” as if it is a young dancer who speaks instead of the choreographer. Through an invitation by Patrice Chéreau and his carte blanche at the Louvre Museum, this piece added a new part in which I review the different relationships I have with my writings about dance, something I had not done in a long time. It is also the continuation of my own link with this great creator, which evokes the different moments in which we crossed paths and how these meetings have punctuated my artistic life. mathilde monnier [Quelle: http://www.mathildemonnier.com/#pa_07cda60377c3bd2d19dee19fa647810560ab3b08] isrr
