Choreographer and dancer Kyle Bukhari chooses an open form that avoids the finished product, which is superficial in his eyes. Associating the audience with the very birth of a choreography by leaving the various moments of collective creation visible: this is Kyle Bukhari's challenge. Staging Area plays with energy variations, changes in body states in an electro-acoustic force field. Where the dance is refined and fluid, the stage space storms between the imaginary threatened by nuclear fallout and the ironic concreteness of the torments of creation allowing for many musicalities of the gesture. Kyle Bukhari gently disrupts the creative process by simultaneously updating its components: repetition, presentation of the artistic creed by the choreographer assailed in voice-over by his personal fears, installation close to the interactive sound environment, aerial dance, graphic and human, agile and unstructured. All of this is crossed by movements, worries and considerations drawn from the dancers' daily lives. All of them are involved in the composition of a stage space that is joyfully laboratory. Born across the Atlantic, Kyle Bukhari learned his trade there in the corps of the New Yorker Joeffrey Ballet before joining the Zürcher Ballet in 1993.
