Eine Arbeit der katalanischen Compagnie aus Barcelona:
“Maria Munoz and Pep Ramis, the founders and chief performers of the four-year-old troupe, seem to be locked in combative love or affection in ‘Sur-Perros del Sur,’ a condition captured in one grappling, nuzzling duet. Jordi Casanovas plays a dog, a mad village idiot and, most compellingly, a wonderfully crusty old retired fisherman. Mr. Casanovas also swings upside down from a rope. Fish tumble from the sky. And one or another character tries for a few private moments to talk or eat at the table. Much of this is funny. Most of it is dark. Some of it is a familiar combination of the kind of high-energy partnering practiced by the French modern dance company L’Esquisse, and the logical illogic of Pina Bausch and her theatrical imagery. But it is not always clear that these three much younger artists have the same firm grasp as Ms. Bausch of underlying themes.” (Quelle: New York Times)
