I Dream a Memory, But I Remember Dreaming

Beschreibung

The performance is a colourful string of sketches and images that connect and complete into a multi-layered whole, although each of them could stand alone in their own right. They are wrapped in the smoke-like curtains of dreaming and/or remembering, and the borderline between both seems to be so translucent and pushed into the far corner of the mind, that it wouldn't make sense to look for it with a lighted microscope, as ambiguity and multiple mining have already been encoded into the title. The wisdom of the psychology of the ordinary life with the pinch of the eccentric in the swiftness and ingenious animation of the characters, the parody and cabaret-like charm. The distinguished mark of Branko Potočan's style and the energy of his production are the wit and humour of the man in the street, who always uses his common sense even in the most absurd situation, and thus acts as an agent of charmingly awkward, yet at the same time logical consequences. This, however, is an old truth: We look our grandest in little things, deficiencies and all.
