Victoria Beckham has Migraine

Beschreibung
Using the Resnais’ film „Je t’aim, Je t’aim“ as the structural starting point, this piece performatively works on a temporary abolishment of a referential field which has been opened by its title. The performance works on accumulation as a functional exchange for a hierarchy. Through deliberate performative and contentual depolitization of its own practice, without attempt of a repolitization which would have happened through the creation of another type of the performative community, “Victoria Beckham» constantly searches for a space in which its implicit politicality remains virtually present but unrealized. The booklet which accompanies the work opens the issue of the program text as an instrument of spreading, reinforcing and repeating of the performative effect so the booklets’ texts function through the realization of its own aformative potentials. In that way the instrumental and supplemental function, which the program text usually has, has been dismissed and what is proposed is in a way an assembler of a reference material.
