49 minutes later... On stage, a body linked to a machine by a cable that sends electrical impulses. Cindy Van Acker follows the exploration she initiated with her last piece Corps 00:00 (2002) with strictness and poetry. As a prelude, she maintains a bipolar choreograpy in which one can read simultaneously two physical scores made for one body: the machine's one that causes involuntary jerks on muscles and the one the choreographer has written. In Balk 00:49, Cindy Van Acker plots a tensed journey crossed by rythmic cracks and breaks. Thus the linearity of this itinerary gets weaked while becoming obsessional.
