Deconstrustion the principles of choreographic authorship yet another time, Kovac thus places a "problem" in front of the spectators-he jerks the rug out from under their feet by constantly and almost consistently demolishing the spectators´horizon of expectation. In this way, he forces them to develop new manners of perception or ´ocular athletics´in the dance theatre process, where in the breaking apart of the distance between the spectator and the stage the autonomic power of the danctheatre elemants, space and time, opens up. (Katja Praznik, Dnevnik, 4. Nov. 2003)
The roots of the piece link back to a conversation about contemporary issues between Iztok Kovač and poet Uroš Zupan in which Malaparte’s novel »La pelle« was mentioned. It, among other sources became a shared reference for both Kovač and Hamilton during the creation process. This process continues on the stage as the performers instantly compose the piece. The unpredictable and unique structure builds up more than 40 fixed-in-advance and improvised sequences that demand the concentration of participants which are not only entering an uncertain mutual relationship but also awaited onstage by a cheerful and brazen musician ready for both kind co-operation and pointed deviations from what was agreed.
