NAH DRAN XVII 1) Smash the Windows von und mit Hana Erdman & Daniela Grimm abcdefg, stop! begin the alphabet with "m" like movement and keep the rest open to be improvised and composed. Eliminate structure, direction, duration by touching movement, listening to it, seeing, smelling and tasting it. In the piece we explore movement as a sole cause for both improvisation and composition in dance and music. We want to make movement sensually graspable and question the differentiation between improvisation and composition as forms of communication. in our performance we show both dance and music as they are: fluid, in motion and creating themselves as they go. Hana Erdman dances between Berlin and San Francisco. She has had the pleasure of working with Sara Shelton Mann, Jess Curtis, Smith/Wymore productions, and Half Machine, as well as creating her own work. Her recent project is a collaboration with musician Daniela Grimm, exploring sound and movement within the context of improvisation and performance. Hana also plays music and performs with her experimental band project, drowning daisies. Daniela Grimm gründete nach einer klassischen Ausbildung an der Violine gemeinsam mit sechs Musikern eine Folk-Band, mit der sie zwischen 1997 und 2003 in Deutschland, Österreich, der Schweiz und in Belgien auftrat und drei Alben produzierte. Es folgten während ihres Studiums der Politikwissenschaft, Geschichte und Philosophie zahlreiche kleinere Musik-Projekte, in denen sie zunehmend Interesse an experimenteller und elektronischer Musik entwickelte. Seit 2007 lebt Daniela Grimm in Berlin, wo sie als Musikerin in unterschiedlichen Projekten arbeitet (u.a. mit Kaya Martischius, Barnaby Tree, Nick Reddell). Im Sommer 2008 lernte sie auf dem Ponderosa Tanz Land Festival die Tänzerin und Musikerin Hana Erdman kennen, mit der sie seit Mai 2009 zusammenarbeitet. 2) Gerettet...? von und mit Livia Politi Da stehe ich, gehüllt in einen warmen, schweren Wintermantel. Ich kann mich nicht bewegen, ich kann nicht denken, ich kann nichts fühlen. Dieser Mantel erdrückt mich. Ich versuche, mit ihm zu leben, muss aber erkennen, dass das unmöglich ist. Also versuche ich herauszufinden, wie und wann ich ihn wieder loswerden kann. Der sichere Platz, bequem, vertraut. Warum verharren wir an solchen Plätzen? Wann machen sie uns krank? Wann ist es Zeit zu gehen? Wie kann man sich auf das Wesentliche zurück besinnen? Warum verliert man von Zeit zu Zeit das Wesentliche überhaupt aus den Augen? Livia Politi, geboren 1972, wuchs in Mexico-Stadt auf, wo Sie Ballett und Zeitgenössischen Tanz studierte. Im Jahr 2000 erhielt sie ihr Diplom (BFA) als Bühnentänzerin an der Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. In Europa und Mexico tanzte sie u.a. für Urs Dietrich, Henrietta Horn und Vivian Cruz. Im Jahre 2002 zog sie nach New York, wo sie u.a. Limon und Klein-Technik studierte. Dort tanzte sie für die Choreografin Geraldine Cardiel und war Mitglied der Coreoarte Dance Company von Carlos Orta. Ihre eigenen Arbeiten hat sie bereits in Mexiko, Buenos Aires, New York und in Deutschland aufgeführt. Seit 2006 lebt sie in Berlin, wo sie seitdem ihre eigenen Stücke choreografiert und aufführt. Lehraufträge führen sie regelmäßig nach Mexico-Stadt. 3) At the Sans Hotel von und mit Nicola Gunn In an old shabby hotel, strewn with familiar remnants, a woman pieces together the fragments of a terrible crime she may or may not have committed. AT THE SANS HOTEL is a performance project in development by Nicola Gunn that combines a dramatic visual and physical language with multiple characters, interactive sound design, spoken text and dark humour to convey a delicately harrowing story of melancholy and longing. And indecision. Welcome to the Sans Hotel. Nicola Gunn is an Australian performance artist and theatre-maker who creates work that is visually and physically dynamic. She conjures worlds for the audience to enter that are elegantly twisted, surreal and powered by an intense and meticulous physicality. She has forged a reputation for presenting a unique style of solo performance with absurdist humour, tenderness and imagination in theatre festivals across Canada, the US, Australia and New Zealand. Her work has been described as mesmerizing, provocative and sometimes, just a little bit ridiculous.
