Nacera Belaza, Tänzerin und Choreografin algerischer Abstammung, präsentiert gemeinsam mit ihrer Schwester ein hypnotisierendes Duett, für das sie zentrale Elemente traditioneller Derwisch-Tänze aufgriff und verfremdete. „Alle traditionellen Aufführungen, die ich sah, basieren auf einer ursprünglichen, schwingenden Bewegung. Das kann zur Trance führen. Es steckt auch etwas Spirituelles dahinter, wie bei den Derwischen. In LE CRI untersuche ich, was davon bleibt, wenn man alle folkloristischen Elemente entfernt. In zwölf Monaten Arbeit an dem Stück habe ich praktisch nur eine einzige Bewegung getanzt“ (Nacera Belaza). Übrig bleiben die repetitiven und auf unerklärliche Weise synchronisierten Armschwünge der Derwische zum Gesang von Nina Simone, Larbi Bestam, Amy Winehouse und Maria Callas. Nacera Belaza, Algerian dancer and choreographer, presents a hypnotic duet with her sister in which she integrates and alters central elements of traditional Dervish dances. “All traditional performances I saw were based on an original swinging movement. That can lead to a trance. There is something spiritual in it, just like it is for the Dervishes. In LE CRI I investigate what remains of this element when the folkloristic ones are removed. In 12 months of work on the piece I practically just danced one single movement.” (Nacera Belaza) What remains are the repetitive and inexplicably synchronized swinging arms of the Dervishes to the songs by Nina Simone, Larbi Bestam, Amy Winehouse and Maria Callas. www.tanzimaugust.de Curieuse sensation que cette pièce aurait du être la première... Une sorte de mouvement qui va de l’intime jusqu’à  la surface, jusqu’à  la disparition. Un chemin qu’emprunte inlassablement chacune de mes pièces, mais peut-être que celle-ci n’ira pas plus loin, elle se tient à  cet endroit, elle contient le cri et prend fin avec lui... A travers cette pièce mon propos artistique ne se développe pas, ne s’élargit pas, il se concentre sur son point d’origine. Cette pièce creuse en nous, d’où sa tenue à  la verticale, elle puise et jaillit. Le cri c’est lorsque l’ancrage ne cède pas. C’est une idée simple, vitale et sans fin... Nacera Belaza, octobre 2007
